Internet poker has become world acclaimed as of late, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to pay up prior to the croupier declares "No more bets." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course all of the different gamblers receive five cards. After you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you must either make a call bet or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning wager, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Bowing out means that your bet goes instantaneously to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a figure in accordance with the ante. If the bank has a hand with ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The house pays cash equal to your initial bet and fixed expectations on your call wager. These expectations are:
- Equal for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- 3-1 for three of a kind
- 4-1 for a straight
- 5-1 for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- one hundred to one for a royal flush
