Distracting Players

Do you ever receive that itch? The itch to wager, to head to the closest gambling den, to come across a good stakes casino game of Hold’em, to sit at a Pontoon table for hours on end. I like that itch. And I really like to scratch it.

I also love to watch folks bet. No 2 poker faces seem identical. When I wager I like to believe I put on a poker face which is impassable. Except I know I have specific gestures. For 1, the only time I smoke is when I wager on poker or Black-jack. And then I chain smoke. Except I smoke no matter whether I am succeeding or losing, no matter if I’ve a beneficial hand or bad.

I once bet within a weekly poker game. The casino game was generally 5 card draw. There was a player who wagered with us each and every week who constantly wore a hat. When he was given a excellent hand, unconsciously, he would start touching and wagering with his hat. Pointless to say, he never won.

The greatest poker gambler I ever saw was a guy who produced a lot more actions and signals at a poker table than anybody I had ever met. He was flawless in the way he dressed. Usually an high priced suit and tie, shoes shined and nails manicured. He was meticulous in this manner. And he was often brushing his pant leg or rubbings his hands or stacking his chips in neat little piles.

I use to examine him for hours. I’d attempt to see if I could notice his tell. Selecting lint off his shirt- did this mean he was bluffing? Stacking his chips within a short pile – did this mean he had a very good hand?

Years later I ran into him within a bar in Vegas and we had a beverage. I asked him if he had been aware of all those movements he made or if they had been unconscious. He told me that each and every little thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everyone is usually checking out everyone else’s poker face. They’re attempting to notice the the tell.

So his program was to give them lots to think about. His thinking was if they had been thinking about him choosing a piece of fuzz off his shirt and what it meant they certain weren’t pondering about their cards.

His technique was distraction. And it worked for him. Never give up a system that operates for you.
